So, business is slow, and you obviously want to change that.
But how?
Social media marketers would tell you that you need to create more social media content, increase your visibility, and post regularly. Email marketers will tell you that you need subscribers, a good value proposition, and a compelling offer. Website developers will tell you that you need better SEO, a clear value proposition, and multiple opt-ins. The truth is, you don't need any of that.
I have a very simple question for you:
When was the last time you called your existing customers?
When business is slow, we tend to think that we need to get more "new customers". But a new customer takes a lot of time to find, build trust with, and ultimately convert into a new client. So, the lowest hanging fruit tends to be your existing customers.
Is business slow? Let's share 3 Easy Ways to Get Sales, Fast.
Tip #1: Call Your Past Customers and Say "Hi!"
Simply calling your existing customers to share that business is a little slow and you wanted to check in with them to see how they were enjoying your current services can go a long way. By doing so, you have shared that you are available for more work and given them a reminder to use your services again. Simple.
Tip #2: Call Your Past Clients and Let Them Know About Your Other Services
Most customers only use one or two services offered. Some may even be very regular about these one or two services. Here's an example: Consider your favorite restaurant or coffee shop. Do you have a meal or drink that you order every time? Odds are you do. As humans, we seek the familiar. Your customers are the same. They signed up for one of your services because they needed it at the time.
You might be thinking that they are aware of your other services and might not need them. That's most likely NOT true. What is closer to the truth is that they didn't even realize you offered other services, or they just don't know how to get started. So, give them a call. Simply say, "Hey there! I just noticed you've been using this one service, but have you considered trying this other service? I think it could really help."
Tip #3: Take Your Top Customer to Lunch
I know... you're thinking, "But it would take too much time to take all of my customers to lunch." I didn't say take all of your customers to lunch. Call your top-paying customers and invite them out to a one-on-one lunch or coffee. This is a person who is already paying. They are your top customers. Treat them like a friend. Grab lunch, have a few laughs, and connect on a human level. There is ZERO sales pitch involved. They already know that you are the owner of a business. When the check comes, put it on your business account.
Your existing customers are the lowest hanging fruit for more revenue for your business. Most customers never use all of your services. If you only have one service, consider offering more services that your customer is most likely to use. And don't assume your customers are even aware of your other services; they are most likely more concerned with their own business, life, and issues.
So, if business is slow, call your customers.
They are your fastest path to more cash flow in your business.
